El Salvador’s Bitcoin debut stumbles over tech problems

Yesterday, September 7, Bitcoin became legal tender in El Salvador. In this regard, a wallet for storing BTC Chivo was launched. Initially, the wallet was supposed to be available at 00:00 local time on Android and iOS mobile devices, but App Store users managed to download it only by 11 a.m. In the Google Play app store, the wallet appeared even later.
But even after the app became available, users complained about the inability to register. Therefore, Chivo developers temporarily suspended the wallet’s work. They managed to connect additional capacities, and although the complaints about the app’s poor performance continued, users began to register and receive the Bitcoins promised by the government of El Salvador.
