Ark is an open-source blockchain platform written in TypeScript, a language accessible to many programmers, and the basic Ark token. The goal is to provide a reliable and accessible infrastructure for developers.

Ark is based on SmartBridge technology, where all compatible blockchains are allowed to be linked in order to get interaction between different networks — such as Lisk, Ethereum, Bitcoin, etc.  The platform development team aims to maintain the capacity of the central blockchain, regardless of the number of networks connected to it via SmartBridge. Sidechains connected to Ark are fully customizable, which can be compared to the Lisk project.

There is no coin mining: Ark runs not on PoW consensus, but on the basis of DpoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) consensus. Moreover, due to the decrease in the number of delegates (to 51), the network significantly increases efficiency and  throughput, compared to other projects that use a similar consensus.
